John Dalli client convicted of fraud and money-laundering in Switzerland yesterday

Dragi Emseriev, born in Skopje in 1974, registered to an address in Hong Kong and holder of a Swiss passport, was yesterday convicted in Switzerland of fraud and money-laundering.

Emseriev is a director of Tyre Ltd, one of the companies involved in the scam carried out on American pensioners who were defrauded of their life savings after wiring them to an account at HSBC Bank in St Julian’s, Malta, held in the name of Corporate Group Ltd, one of the businesses which the former European Commissioner’s daughters front for their father.

The money was meant to be invested in (fictitious) gold mines operated by Tyre Ltd, the scamming vehicle run for the notorious fraudster Marie Eloise Corbin, known as Lady Bird. The funds have since disappeared and are the subject of police investigations both in Malta and in the United States.

John Dalli’s daughters, Claire Gauci Borda and Louisa Dalli, were directors of Tyre Ltd alongside Dragi Emseriev, but stepped down when news of the scam was first broken by this website, leading to extensive newspaper coverage and police investigations after the American pensioners filed their reports.

They were replaced by Robert Mitchell McIvor and Martin Zuch, a shady ‘Christian’ who had taken over Tyre Ltd’s shares at the close of 2012, the year that Claire Gauci Borda had signed a contract for a full year’s rent, in the name of Tyre Ltd, for a villa in the Bahamas. Renting a house for one year in the Bahamas entitles you to residency status there.

Tyre Ltd remains a client of John Dalli’s company and its registered address, in the records of Malta’s Companies Registry, is Dalli’s office at Portomaso in St Julian’s.

The shady outfit is audited by John Abela of Horwath Ltd, who has collaborated closely – the correct word would be ‘tightly’ – with John Dalli for many years, definitely as far back as when Dalli was Health Minister.
