Now we know why Byon Jo is so into filming

Published: February 2, 2011 at 1:47am

Byon Jo (2nd from right) at one of the Super One/Jason Micallef/Charlon Gouder soirees organised by Consuelo Herrera at Hugh Anastasi's (1st from right) house (don't ask).

I have just discovered that Byon Jo Zammit, that ugly little rat of a Super One cameraman (the Poison Dwarf picked him in a matching size) who with Kurt Farrugia harassed me, my son and my sister at the university debate in 2008, and who with Charlon Gouder chased me and two of my sisters up and down Republic Street with a camera twice his size that he can barely carry, was born, so to speak, into film.

Ordinarily, I would have done the decent thing and said nothing, but given that he’s such a ghastly little scumbag, I’m going to take great pleasure in telling you.

Do you remember that big scandal some years ago, when the Labour Party’s propaganda secretary scarpered after he was found to have been using Labour’s pom-pom girls – yes, Labour had pom-pom girls – for amateur porn movies, FILMED IN THE MACINA (Labour HQ before the current premises), in which he starred as the (ahem) leading man?

Stephen Ciantar, I believe he was called. I had seen a couple of clips of those films and nearly killed myself laughing because the pom-pom girls in all their naked glory were just so damned gross. And then Ciantar runs at them with his…well, you don’t really want to know, do you. Like anything remotely associated with Labour – including porn films – it was just so…..tacky. and badly done.

Oh yes, Byon Jo – one of porn star pom-pom girls was his mother. It makes you wonder why these creepy duds go to great lengths to invent stories about their enemies, when they’ve got so much real dirt of their own to conceal.

My, how I wish I had known this when Charlon and Byon Jo stuck their godawful camera in my face and I took the liberty of asking Charlon on air to confirm or deny the story that he had gone with a prostitute in Albertown and then reported that she had stolen his wallet. I could have added a secondary question as to whether the prostitute was by any chance his cameraman’s mother, star of Stephen Ciantar’s ‘blue films’.

What did I tell you, my dears? CHAV NATION.

If Byon’s mother used to participate as a pom pom girl, then this Ciantar story must have happened years ago. I, for one, do not remember anything.

Anyway, you may now be assured that neither Byon nor Charlon will chase you down in Valletta or in some university hall. They will have to commission another cameraman for your next court sitting.

[Daphne – It happened in the early 1990s as I recall. It took up the whole of In-Nazzjon’s front page, with stills from the films with little black strips in the appropriate places. The Times was too squeamish to pick up the story. That was then, and it’s one thing that’s changed for the better about that newspaper. Actually, that’s a great idea. I’ll keep a facsimile of that front page with me and hold it up – sorry, down – to Byon Jo’s camera lens. Then I’ll wait and see if they make a broadcast fuss about it like they did with my sister’s bionic handbag. Bloody peasants. They’re everywhere these days.]

It’s good to know that I’ve contributed an idea at this late hour. However, be careful in that some soon-to-be lawyer from the Super One newsroom may come up with the great idea of going to the police to have you prosecuted for exhibiting obscene content in public.

why don’t you tell us the exact date it was in was frontpage of In-Nazzjon?
…that is, If you really know the details.

I remember it well. I even got hold of a copy of the video for a while. Damn you, Daphne! now I’m dying to know which one of the girls was Byon Jo’s mum.

I actually saw the full feature film. Guess where? There were “private viewings” for about about 100 persons at the PN Kazin in Marsa.

Had Fenech Adami found out about the PN club doing this, he would have removed our tessera. It was the most hilarious thing I ever watched.

Please, halluna narawh dak il-video specjalment omm il-cameraman tas-Super One.

Any online link to this video? It’s the most interesting local political story in ages.

  6. Spiru says:

The first one reminds me of the character Jaws (I think) from the James Bond earlier movies.

…another bit of info: the expression “il-faldi jcappcpu” (plural of “icapcap” ) must know its origin to this porn video. They were like a rabbit’s ears – unbelievable.

  8. jack says:

    Hence the expression “loose woman”.
