So anti-EU Putin wants to bring down an anti-EU Maltese prime minister and replace him with one who is fervently pro-EU

Indeed, Marco Cremona – one of the fundamental flaws in Muscat’s crazy conspiracy theory is that it is he and his party who perfectly fit the profile of the sort of government Vladimir Putin wants in control of EU member states.
The suggestion that Putin might want to remove the pro-Russia Muscat, who is busy undermining the European Commission, the European Parliament and Malta’s status as a credible member of the European Union, so as to replace him with the leader of a political party that has historically been tepid in its relations with Russia, and which is passionately pro-EU, is so ludicrous that I can only conclude that Muscat is not desperate so much as having lost it.
