Well, I missed yesterday’s episode because I had to be on time for dinner (and still, I was late….). I’m told it was really good, with Archie throwing Janine out onto the street after first sending her on a treasure hunt for a cut-price one-way ticket to Poland and a penny for spending (not in the lavatory). So I’m going to watch the repeat episode this afternoon.

We’ve got to wait until Monday to see Archie killed. Damn.

Is hej x’inhi fruitsome. Dik min hi, Daphne?

[Daphne – Dik Janine, the Eastenders cow/bitch/tart/you get the picture.]

Time to buy a hard-disk recorder!

I can let you know how to access the BBC IPlayer. Then you wouldn’t have to wait. Email me if you are interested.

[Daphne – Thanks, but no. Waiting is part of the fun. My mother – a menace with the internet – watches them ahead of time on her laptop, but is under strict orders not to spoil things unless it’s something big like Archie Mitchell getting killed.]

  5. I remember when I first started watching East Enders, Janine was a child and so was Ian. It was hard to follow at first (no internet in those days) and I remember preparing a sort of flow chart to see how the characters were related to each other.
I also watch Coronation Streeet but that is a few YEARS behind. I had read that one of the characters was killed and spent all this time wondering when it was going to happen – it now has! The difference to East Enders is that the suspense is wondering if the killer will get away with it as she is pleading self defence.

Glad to say I got the boxed sets of ‘Rome’ for Christmas and the ‘Dad’s Army’ DVD.
