   It is in the West’s interests that China becomes an open democracy.

   Only democracies take long to go to war.

   I hope Joseph Muscat’s Memorandum of Understanding with the Chinese Communist Party – which he signed following a meeting where he directed the sole of his shoe towards the future President of China – does not include cooperation with China on harmonisation of human freedoms and free speech.
