The Times reports today:

DALLI UNAWARE HE WAS GOING TO BE ON JPO’S LIST

EU Health Commissioner John Dalli, a former Nationalist minister, was yesterday named as one of five witnesses picked by Nationalist MP Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando to “corroborate” his claims against Richard Cachia Caruana.

The other witnesses, expected to testify in person on July 17, are Police Commissioner John Rizzo, the Prime Minister’s spokesman Gordon Pisani, and former Labour ministers Joe Mizzi and Karmenu Vella.

Contacted yesterday for his reaction, Mr Dalli said: “This is news to me. I don’t know what comment I could make.”

Asked if he had been approached by Dr Pullicino Orlando, Mr Dalli said: “Listen, this is… as I said… I don’t know.”

Why didn’t he simply say yes?

  2. BuBu says:

Sounds like even John Dalli is embarrassed to be associated with JPOS.

If these people had to be constantly wired to a polygraph, the charts would resemble daily magnitude 5 earthquakes.

He was rather more courteous with Maltastar, I suppose the voice on the phone was Falzon’s, much more familiar and accomodating.

JohnDalliToday still mum. Trying to sell a good story, there’s a risk the parallels between what RCC’s accused of and his whining on Hamilton’s Bla Agenda become self-evident truths.

Maltatoday had concluded otherwise about JPO’s credibility.

These aren’t wheels within wheels, this is a real and proper attempt on the electoral mandate. A commission on a billion euros can be shared amongst so many.

    What a bloody circus

  6. anthony says:

It might be that Dalli will not be summoned as a witness but as an expert.

  7. C Falzon says:

This keeps getting better. JPOS was accompanied by not just one but two ‘security men’ to the PN HQ.

If he needs any sort of ‘security men’ accompanying him it is of the sort that come in white lab coats.

    The Times, today:

“Two security men who accompanied Dr Pullicino Orlando were not allowed into PN headquarters, despite the protests of one of them, Stephen Ciangura.”
