A bizarre conspiracy between two supper companions whose wives are good friends

Last Sunday, Joseph Muscat, while speaking to interviewer Reno Bugeja on TVM’s Dissett, publicly embraced Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando’s bizarre allegations.

He claimed that he did so after internal consultations with his MPs
who served in government in 1996-1998.

Now it turns out that:

1. Karmenu Vella clearly stated that it was only a few days ago
that he spoke to Pullicino Orlando about Air Malta, at a party of all places, and this means that Pullicino Orlando first made the
allegations then found the ‘evidence’ to support them;

2. Alfred Sant, who was the prime minister at the time, told The Times this morning that Joseph Muscat never asked him about any of this;

3. George Vella, who was then deputy prime minister, told The Times that “while he had discussed the allegations with Dr Muscat, he himself had never been approached by Mr Cachia Caruana”;

4. Lino Spiteri, who was the Finance Minister at the time, told The Times that Muscat did not consult him and that RCC never approached him; he also said that he “raised an eyebrow” when he heard Pullicino Orlando’s allegations;

5. Charles Mangion and Evarist Bartolo, who were both ministers,
said that they “had never been approached by Mr Cachia Caruana”.

6. and Joe Mizzi, one of Pullicino Orlando’s only two Labour politicians witnesses (the other is Karmenu Vella), has been non-committal so far.

So who did Joseph Muscat talk to in the Labour Party, except for Karmenu Vella and Joe Mizzi – or has this all been a charade conducted in the interests of his personal friend Pullicino Orlando’s ugly mission?

Muscat continues to have all the integrity, decency and tactical skills of a Super One reporter. But he’s gunning to become prime minister.

    It would be a great mistake for the NP Executive to treat the cases of JPO, Franco Debono and Jesmond Mugliett together.

    They all have a lot to answer for.

    All three have defied the party whip. Eventually, they may face the same sanctions.

    But, what JPO is doing is on a completely different scale. He is showing himself as a manipulator with no scruples.

      As far as I am concerned, JPOS has publicly shown himself to be a “manipulator with no scruples” since the Mistragate episode.

      As for the other two rotten potatoes, one is plain dotty and the other an awfully bad loser.

  2. Jozef says:

    Sant had his scoop on JPO blown up when Joseph Muscat couldn’t keep his mouth shut at a party about the big story they had. Remember?

    Bizarre situations lead to even more bizarre outcomes.

    Ajma hej, with friends like these…..

    Thank God it’s not personal because he would have RCC’s head on a plate, minimum.
