Oh dear, will they actually think of submitting a protest? That would be their zenith.

  2. Frankie Narcono says:

    How cruel !

  3. ciccio says:

Meanwhile, Francooney is on TVHemm right now.

  4. Giovanni says:

Franco is flipping out on TVHemm, but I must say he has hijacked the programme.

    PL could potentially win

So Frankie Tabone intends to start his own party.

I’m watching him on TV Hemm. He’s off to a great start…I don’t think.

Today, Norman Vella of TVHEMM has gained my respect.

I hope you’re watching the irrelevant one on TVHEMM, and look forward to your assessment.

  9. canon says:

Yesterday’s comment by the wife of the President’s son on Simon Busuttil was unwarranted.

  10. Censu says:

Never mind that. I am sure that most of Malta has already watched it. Re-seeing it will only re-affirm how weak our dear Anglu is.

    Watching Franco on TVM.

It will not be long now.

This tragic comedy is nearing its sad but inevitable conclusion.

I sincerely hope that casualties will be very limited.

  11. Simon says:

I really hope this is the last time we see Franco Debono on the state TV station.

Now he claims that he voted against the increase in children’s allowance because the legislation on political party financing was not discussed.

Franco you should get your priorities sorted out, but I understand that children’s allowance is not a priority for you, because you spend all your money on clothes and don’t have children.

You think that your priorities are the nation’s priorities and you can do what ever you like with your vote in parliament. Now let’s see you try to get elected on an independent ticket.

  12. Mercury Rising says:

Ahjar Anglu Farrugia minn Franco zgur.

  13. RJC says:

So they want to humiliate Anglu further.

Muscat should have stopped it to limit the damage.

[Daphne – How? I thought we were all against political interference in the state broadcaster.]

  14. anthony says:

    No, thank you.

I am doing all I can to last till the 9th of March if possible.

If I watch my country’s deputy prime minister making an utter fool of himself once again I might succumb.

He is not fit for purpose.

  15. A says:

Are they really repeating it? Is it because Anglu Farrugia was so awful? What if it were the other way round? Franco Debono is turning us paranoid, or maybe not.

  16. Spiru says:

Saw a good one already tonight. So much for journalism – the presenter levelling statements agianst Franco Debono….

  17. Mark v says:

I have just watched Franco on TV Hemm. He badly needs help. I hope he does himself a favour and calls it a day.

  18. Max says:

Have you watched Franco on TVHemm?

He’s clearly suffering from a God complex.

  24. Think Positive says:

Watching Anglu Farrugia took me out of my electoral indecisiveness. I’ll be voting Nationalist again. And well done, Simon.

  25. il busu says:

I’m watching the repeat of last Saturday’s ‘konfront’ between Dr Busuttil and Dr Farrugia.

My God, what a pathetic sight Farrugia is.

Thank heavens I vote Nationalist. Otherwise, I would be very embarrassed.

  30. Just me says:

I have a suspicion that Franco Debono’s real reason for saying that he would vote against the budget was simply to get media coverage.

Yesterday he was so pissed off because he said that he was not invited on TVM especially on Xarabank AFTER he said that he would vote against it.

Austin Gatt’s dismissal was only an excuse. Franco could have voted in favour of the no confidence motion in Dr. Gatt instead of abstaining, several months ago if he really wanted him to resign.

Franco just likes to be the centre of attraction. That is the reason behind most of the things he does.

  31. Marley says:

I am a Nationalist, and always voted for PN. This time around, I was not going to vote, BUT you know what? I have recently changed my mind. I will vote, BUT for the Labour Party! …

I do not care about the PAST. Both parties keep bringing up the past … The Labour Party brings up the 1950’s and 1960’s … The PN keeps bringing up the 1970’s and 1980’s. SO WHAT? I am interested in TODAY and THE FUTURE! … All I know is that TODAY, my salary is NOT making ENDS MEET! … I am basically living from hand to mouth, as so MANY Maltese Families are, regardless if they are Labour or PN. I am fortunate, because for Malta, I have a Middle Management Salary. Can you IMAGINE those families who are only living on a BASIC WAGE? …

Yes, I believe the PN has done a lot of good things, these past 25 years, BUT they have also done a lot of bad things too, just as the Labour Party has also done (good and bad). I believe it is TIME for the PN to step down! … Any government that rules for such a long period of time, needs to be CHANGED! … I believe our current government and its people have EXTENDED their stay, and it is time for a CHANGE! … I say this with a heavy heart, for as I stated, I have always voted for PN, BUT ENOUGH is ENOUGH! …

I have never commented on your blog, but I do read it from time to time. Your blog has HELPED me to ‘change my mind’. From what I can read, your blog is only spurring HATE! … Which makes me laugh, because the PN’s motive back in the 1980’s was to UNITE the population, which they have succeeded in doing, BUT now all I am reading is HATRED, and it is once again dividing the people. How ironic, since it’s coming from the people that have once opposed this act!

As for Franco Debono, who you are constantly making a joke of, I have only this to say. I give him CREDIT for standing up to what he believes in, NO MATTER if, as the PN says he has, a ‘personal agenda’. Who in the government DOES NOT HAVE A PERSONAL AGENDA?? They are ALL looking out for themselves FIRST, and FOREMOST!

My only question to Franco Debono, is WHY did he wait so long to bring down the government? Everyone KNEW that the election was scheduled for March 9th BEFORE it was even announced! Franco Debono should have brought the government down, last year, when he had the opportunity to do so. This makes me question what was done or said ‘behind closed doors’.

In closing, I’d like to take the opportunity to thank you for allowing me, (if this comment gets published on your blog) for speaking my opinions, and for helping me to decide to vote for Labour. You can criticize me all you like, but it will NOT change my mind. I can imagine your reply would be something to the effect of ‘a leopard never changes his spots’ – in regards to Labour – BUT you know what? … It CAN NOT get ANY WORSE than how we are living TODAY.

[Daphne – At my great age, sweetheart, I can spot a Laburist at 50 paces and in disguise. Oh, and another thing, do try and be a little more subtle. Nationalists don’t vote Labour. People who vote Labour are Laburisti – BY DEFINITION. And what’s more, your tone indicates that you were raised as one and were never anything else.]

    • Gahan says:

“The PN keeps bringing up the 1970′s and 1980′s”.

Marley, if you really were a Nationalist you would not have forgotten 1996-1998 and if you are a true Laburist (which you are) you would try to dismiss those Alfred Sant years.

From my experience, I can tell you that if you are in middle management you shouldn’t be living from hand to mouth. As for your pity towards low income earners, I would tell you to stop worrying because as soon as one’s income goes down, income tax/NI contributions will go down while social services shoot up.

If the “basic wage” earners start scraping the bottom they will be entitled to more help: if they have children studying they will have extra financial help and subsidies on their water and electricity bills.

Yours are crocodile tears for the “basic wage” earner.

I love these Damascene letters; one can spot their lack of authenticity from a mile away.

    • Jozef says:

‘Yes, I believe the PN has done a lot of good things, these past 25 years.

Any government that rules for such a long period of time, needs to be CHANGED!

I believe our current government and its people have EXTENDED their stay, and it is time for a CHANGE!’

      Where do I start?

    • Marley says:

“SWEETHEART” … you are so DEAD WRONG! … BUT if it consoles YOU to think that of me, so be it! … YES, Nationalists, as well as Laburisti, with an OPEN MIND who have had ENOUGH of their government, will at times TURN, unless they were so BRAINWASHED for so many years, that they can not bring themselves to think on their own.

I know that the majority of voters who do not want to vote for ‘their’ party will at times WASTE their vote, by voting for the ‘third party’ or ‘independent individual’ … BUT let’s face it, Malta only has TWO parties, and I would rather abstain from voting than WASTE my vote!

Before I close, I’d have you know that there are other Nationalist, like me, who this time around are voting for Labour! … IF you consider us to be Laburisti, in order to console yourself, so be it. IF you want to call us FLOATERS, again, no problem! … AFTER ALL, its people who think like I do, that determines who gets elected at the very end. IF Labour does get elected this time around, I’ll see how their 5 year term goes, but in any event, I will have no regrets for TURNING this coming election, and you, my DEAR “SWEETHEART”, can count YOURSELF one of my reasons for TURNING.

Wishing you and yours a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

[Daphne – ‘There are other Nationalist, like me, who this time around are voting for Labour!,,,IF you consider us to be Laburisti, in order to console yourself, so be it. IF you want to call us FLOATERS, again, no problem!”One is what one votes, Marley, not what one calls oneself. In the same way that what makes you a billionaire is having a billion euros at least, and not calling yourself a billionaire or thinking of yourself as one, so what makes you a Nationalist or a Laburist is the way you vote. If you support Labour, then you are a Labour supporter. Obviously – but then I shouldn’t expect somebody with your IQ level to work this out. Oh, and people who switch are switchers not floaters.]

      • Gahan says:

“There are other Nationalist, like me, who this time around are voting for Labour! “

Marley , I know one whose line of thinking is precisely like yours. His name is Franco Debono and we saw him getting hot under the collar because he could not convince Norman who was “interrupting” him because no answers for genuine questions were forthcoming.

In plain street talk, Marley wants to buy this new car which is being advertised by an ill-reputed dubious company which in the past manufactured various dangerous car models.

He prefers risking life and limb with this prototype car rather than buying the same brand which by and large served his requirements but had several punctures.

He wants to convince us that changing the tyres won’t solve this problem.

He wants the prototype car which will be marketed on the 7th of January 2013, no matter how much it will cost him.

He’s more than sure that it’s a better car even though the vice chairman of the ill-reputed car company doesn’t have an idea what the features of this new car are.

        Hallina, Marley! Aghzel ir-rigali tal-Milied b’aktar ghaqal mill-ghazla li se taghmel ghal-gvern.

Nixtieqlek Milied hieni u snin mimlija rizq iktar milli kellek dawn l-ahhar snin.

  32. A much better ” debate” was seen yesterday and this morning (repeat) between WE “presenter” , Norman Vella and Franco Debono ! Dr. Debono revealed in the most glaring way the BIAS of WE and PBS. Norman did his utmost to prevent Franco frpm exposing his valid arguments on the reason why he voted against the budget, but continuous interruptions. This tactic boomeranged and WE & PBS have ended being shown to what they truly are – GATE -KEEPERS of GonziPN ! No wonder Simon “morru ghand tal-grocer” Busuttil locked himself up on Friday evening !

    • RJC says:

Thought you’d never get over the blow your deputy leader got on Saturday Eddy.

Wonder of wonders what Viagra can do.

  33. Herbie says:

Overheard Sunday at the petting farm:

“‘Mnalla Simon ma jafx jitkellem ghax taghna kien veru tuba.”

  34. Jozef says:

    http://tvm.com.mt/news/franco-lets-loose-on-tv-hemm/

To Norman Vella, what you had in front of you yesterday was the manifestation of advanced delusion and paranoia.

His reaction towards the end was directed at the planet, you just happened to be his receptacle. Notice how he regains a sembiance of reality if let to it, he needs the time to verbalise the emotions.

Notice also the hints of remorse when you smiled. To him that means you’re not a threat, still approachable.

Whoever’s using him has a lot to answer to. Even for Franco’s own sake.

Imagine trying to work with this individual.

Daphne was right, it’s become serious now.

    • Futur Imcajpar says:

And yet, our Eddy was quite impressed with Freaky Beanie’s performance. He reckons he really dished the muck on all of them.

  35. Jozef says:

‘………….”We will show when and how we will reduce the electricity and water rates,” he said. Cuts, he said, would be brought in for domestic users and the manufacturing sector……….Dr Muscat was speaking at the end of a tour of Delicata winery in Paola…’

Well yes, very convenient if there’s a spike in weddings.

  36. MMuscat says:

Frankie Tabone was on TVHemm showing off his twisted thinking.

According to him, Simon Busuttil is arrogant because he ignored the One reporter last Friday and PM Gonzi should apologise for what his uncle did. If that is not twisted then what is?

Mid-dehra in-nies indannati u mdejqin minhabba l-moghod kif Norman jikkonduci l-programm fuq il-PBS. Silly me, and I thought that I had better stuff to worry about.

This bloke is not only irrelevant but his arguments are all invalid.

  37. giraffa says:

What’s the point of this repeat?

And why is Franco Debono being given so much air-time on PBS, when he is now declared irrelevant to the PN and therefore does not represent the party?

If he wants to further damage the PN, he should set up camp at Super One or buy air-time on the minnow TV stations – not on national television.

Someone at PBS must have been under pressure to allow this charade.

  38. edgar says:

I have a much different view to yours, Giraffa.

Our home help, who is a Labour voter, said this morning, “Why do they allow that mad person to appear on TV?”

Giving him lots of rope to hang himself is a very clever move.
