So it turns out – I hadn’t noticed before – that Manuel Mallia, JosephMuscat.com’ brigadier-general in the fight against corruption, is defence counsel to Kevin Sammut, the footballer banned for life for…corruption.

Had a shower in any nice fountains lately, Manuel? Jew dak l-ilma ghat-twins biss?

It also seems that the team-mates of Kevin Sammut will be forking out money so that he doesn’t blow the whistle on them.

And all this is, of course, masterminded by Manwel ‘Whistleblower Act’ Mallia.

All lawyers will do that for a fee. Don’t tell me you haven’t noticed.

Guido DeMarco regularly defended known criminals and then went on to be an excellent Minister of Justice. There is no logical connection to what clients a lawyer will take on and what he or she will do when holding down a Ministerial job.

[Daphne – That sort of conflict of interest would be considered completely unacceptable now. It was already unacceptable then and led to serious conflicts.]
