Maaaaaa, I’m rally in

Published: February 25, 2013 at 10:57pm

Has Joseph gone camp or is a woman writing his stuff?

Here’s his latest email asking young people to go to a rally at the Corradino Sports Complex (God knows why I got one).

I would love you to come, he says. I don’t know a man alive who would ever say that, except in bed.

Well, ‘I would love you to attend’ is what he actually says, which is why you’re left with the feeling that somebody crossed out the ‘come’ and brought out the thesaurus.

‘I would love you to come’ is what women say when issuing invitations, and then only to other women. There is no way we are ever going to say anything of the sort to a man, except with intent. That’s when we look for alternatives.

As if a straight man is ever going to say ‘I would love you to attend’. Ma tarax.

Ridiculous.

There will be a party beforehand, and afterwards. Must have taken him a long time to come.

  2. Ghoxrin Punt says:

Erm, why does he want our ideas now?

Is the manifesto not already published?

Is he going to start backing down from his promises already?

Does he not understand that if he is voted in, people are going to expect him to deliver on what he has promised and not on what is going to be suggested at Corradino complex?

Is this how he plans to govern for the next 5 years, on a wing and a prayer?

Just seeing the ‘best’ suggestion and implementing it without a thought of the consequences?

Or is this so he can turn round and blame someone else if (and based on his past directions when) it all goes wrong?

  3. Edward says:

Just watched that video of Muscat trying not to answer questions about the Safi case. All he could say was ” Let’s stop being negative.”

Is this guy serious? Are we going to be faced with that question every time we criticise him or ask him difficult questions?

Sorry Muscat, but when your actions have bad implications it is our right to call you up on it.

Stop using that “positive thinking” scam of a religion to get you out of trouble.

No amount of positive thinking is going to make us feel any better about asking for a bail-out, or dealing with record high unemployment. Reality wins every time.

  4. Min Jaf says:

Probably Michelle drafted that. She managed Alfred Sant’s PR, and look at where that got him.

  5. Wilson says:

I would sue the LP for abdominal pains and broken chairs. This guy makes one fall over with laughter. Can you not respond with a similar statement?

  6. Sandra says:

Positive campaign ?? You must be joking! One only has to watch One News ( over the past 4 years too ) and the latest ad in the form of NEWS……lies, lies and more lies. How tiring.

  7. GG says:

I didn’t receive one but would love to make a whole series of spoof requests for invites under ridiculous names.

    Ideas anyone?

  8. Joe Micallef says:

It is, and will be, a big mess!

  9. Tabatha White says:

Is the implication and hidden agenda here to see who to dish out EU funds and scholarships to IF they’re in? Is that why invitations need to be printed out with name and surname? We’re in your scam sect bil-provi? Don’t forget me? Not only the big businessmen that count – lest you be worried and not have 1.4 million euro to donate – we have something for everyone who shows allegiance?

  10. taxxu says:

    MULEJ HUDNI………

  11. MxC says:

Why the change in font and size when it says “voice doesn`t count”? Another misprint like the rest Labour did?

  12. Grezz says:

    I’m jealous.

  13. bystander says:

    Mass suicide?

  14. ciccio says:

Meanwhile, Muscat will not be touching mud. Well, if he hasn’t got any, he cannot touch it.
So he prefers to speak about more important bread and butter issues. Like a cemetery for pets, for instance.

  15. Jozef says:

    Meantime,

Berlusconi’s trailing Bersani by 0.6 of a percentage point. Both at the 28% mark. This was at 11.30.
Bersani had 40% to Berlusconi’s 14% last December.

A blogger has just overtaken everyone as the first party in Italy. Grillo’s Movimento is now the single most voted list of candidates who won’t enter any coalition.

Bersani’s under attack for having wasted his party’s chance of the clearest possible victory ever.

    • Harry Purdie says:

Now you’ve got me worried. Berlusconi went to the hair transplant clinic as little Joey.

    • P Shaw says:

Immediately the spread on the Italian bonds (i.e. the cost of borrowing) exploded, as a result of electing two anti-EU and careless parties. Electoral promises are one thing, but market reality is a state of affairs that no one can escape from.

      • Harry Purdie says:

You got that right. The Euro dropped immediately. Future trading as of now (01:35) has it at 1.30 Euro to the dollar, down almost .020 from earlier today.

      • Jozef says:

What’s interesting is how the Movimento’s candidates are relatively unknown. They’ve done their campaign on the internet and on a strictly local level. No TV, no mainstream newspapers nothing. The only way one gets a hint of their policies is via Grillo’s speeches on youtube. He’s viral.

Berlusconi launched himself into an aggressive campaign with a limited number of proposals against Bersani and his painful process of internal party democratisation and formulation of policy.

Berlusconi made his appearance on TV as soon as he was cleared by the polls. He wouldn’t if these showed it proved damaging. He concentrated on the new cable stations including business channels and their live links at some very funny hours.

As late as early January, everyone watched the drama unfold as his party was about to fold, to this.

Relying on a TV station and its surreptitious method to persuade an audience is definitely out. It’s simply more of the same.

What mattered were the leaders who know their audience. Bersani failed, even if he scraped the result, he’s in no position to govern.

  16. just me says:

“to bring about the change our country needs”

Our country does not need change. It is doing really great under a Nationalist government.

If the PL is elected, there will be a change. Joseph Muscat is correct in saying that. But it will be a change for the WORSE. And we do not need or want that kind of change.

  17. xemxi says:

    @toni ~ did u get it ?

  18. judy says:

“We are only ten days left” “can’t afford to let up now” who writes this stuff? I’m in awe.

  19. Matthew says:

I decided to heed Joseph Muscat’s words, put aside all negativity and just be positive. This is what I found.

    1) Microsoft Innovation Centre inaugurated in Luqa. – 22nd February 2013

    2) The EU Commission states that Malta uses its EU funds extremely well. It puts Malta in the second place out of 17 EU countries.. – 23rd February 2013

    3) Lawrence Gonzi negotiates a deal of €1.1 billion in tough times when many other countries saw their budgets decrease. – 11th February 2013

    4) Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando himself says that since Lawrence Gonzi put him head of the MCST, he has seen the number of staff quadruple and funding increase fivefold. Nicholas Sammut backs his claim saying that council funding increased by €500,00 for every new staff member. – 22nd February 2013

Such positivity to be found, and all within a month.

Joseph Muscat’s cry to be positive is nothing more than a desperate attempt to avoid talking about Labour’s horrible past and Joseph Muscat’s terrible political decisions. Pity then that the PN beat him at positive things too.

Here are the links to all these positive stories.

Really though. I’ve been under the impression that Joseph Muscat is a woman locked inside the body of a fat balding male poodle for quite a while now..
