And then you get some wasters who are talking about voting AD and putting the Labour granfalloon into government
The Labour Party has released a press statement and photographs after its mass youth rally at the Corradino Sports Complex tonight.
Unless you grew up in an igloo in the remote Arctic, you can’t fail to pick up that there’s something disturbing about the scenes in those photographs, even if you’re not quite sure what it is.
Rather than being Obama-esque, it’s shades of Kim Il Sung and the Hitler Youth. I wonder why. I haven’t quite worked it out yet. But it is definitely creepy. Dangerously creepy.
I understand when I see scenes like these why Labour/JosephMuscatDotCom is attracting streams of weirdos and losers. All essentially totalitarian/far right groups do that: they are a place in which freaks and w**kers find their identity, a sense of belonging and a sense of purpose, even though that purpose is essentially meaningless.

Joseph Muscat liż-żgħażagħ: Tkunux spettaturi, kunu protagonisti
Iż-żgħażagħ għandhom ikunu il-protagonisti u mhux sempliċiment spettaturi. F’dawn il-jiem li fadal mill-kampanja elettorali hemm bżonn li ż-żgħażagħ, bl-involviment tagħhom, ikomplu jikkonvinċu lil żgħażagħ oħrajn biex fid-9 ta’ Marzu niktbu l-istorja flimkien, biex Malta tkun verament tagħna lkoll.
Dan kien l-appell ewlieni mill-mexxej Laburista Joseph Muscat waqt li kien qed jindirizza liż-żgħażagħ, f’mass rally, fil-Corradino Sports Complex.
Joseph Muscat elenka wkoll li l-għan ta’ dan il-moviment huwa li jwarrab il-politika tal-passat u jaħdem biex uliedna jsibu pajjiż magħqud. Il-mexxej Laburista żied jgħid ukoll li dan il-moviment ser ikun qed jaħdem biex ikun hawn drittijiet ċivili ġodda.
Joseph Muscat stqarr li ħaddieħor qiegħed jgħid li mhawnx problema ta’ qgħad fost iż-żgħażagħ. Madankollu l-istatisika turi mod ieħor. Dan għaliex fost dawk li jinsabu mingħajr impjieg hemm 4,600 żagħżugħ u żagħżugħa. Joseph Muscat fakkar kif Gvern Ġdid ser ikun qed jipprovdi tagħlim, taħriġ u xogħol lil kulħadd. Barra minn hekk, għall-kuntrarju ta’ ħaddieħor, ser ikun qed jgħin lil dawk l-istudenti li jkunu jixtiequ jerġgħu jirrepetu sena bil-għan li jidħlu l-Università.
Joseph Muscat irringrazzja lill-istudenti tal-Junior College, tal-Higher Secondary, tal-Mcast u tal-Università li matul din il-kampanja laqgħu l-messaġġ tal-movimentLaburista.

One of the men at the bottom left of the last photo is holding a placard stating “We’re all in”. Is he so insensitive that he needs to have it pointed out to him?
Like a desperate gambler at the last chance saloon.
I really don’t get it. So these people think that if Labour don’t win, Malta will not belong to them?
No.
They do not ‘think’ at all.
If they did, they would ask questions and the spell would be broken.
I don’t get the “coolness” attributed to Muscat; especially when you’re referred to as “Il-king” by some punk in front of a camera.
What I do understand, however, is the lack of crowd safety surrounding The One. A tragedy would have surely happened if someone at the front needed immediate medical attention.
“Malta Taghna Lkoll; We’re all in!” u qas biss nahsbu fis-sahha tal-votanti taghna.
It is really unfair to call Labour supporter weirdos and w**kers.
[Daphne – Basic logic, Robert: ‘Weirdos and w**kers vote Labour’ does not mean ‘Those who vote Labour are weirdos and w**kers.’]
Making references to the Nazis movement while being oblivious to the fact that you are also engaging yourself in fascist hate speech directed to supporters of a political group.
[Daphne – You sound just like a Nazi. One day, perhaps, you will understand the difference between scathing mockery and hate speech. Until then, carry on listening to Super One. We’re dealing with a bit of a cultural gulf here. I might as well be speaking Russian.]
No wonder nobody takes you seriously.
Can you at least justify why different opinions are blocked out of your blog? Isn’t that tantamount to fascism?
[Daphne – I don’t ‘block’ different opinions. Readers tend to go where they feel comfortable, and that means like-minded views. When the occasional ‘different opinion’ comes in, I upload it. Insults, however, do not constitute a different opinion, so those get deleted unless they are particularly amusing or extravagant. But even if I were to delete the comments of those who disagree with me, no, that would not be tantamount to fascism. You need to broaden your knowledge of history. There was once a man called Mussolini…]
Don’t you think it is a bit ‘disturbing’ from your part? You are free to use my email to answer my questions. I don’t want to convince you or change your mind. I just want to know why do you hate half the population of Malta.
[Daphne – I don’t. I find stupidity absolutely enthralling, not hateful. And I always make it a point of saying that I can understand why somebody brainwashed from birth in a Labour family, however intelligent, is likely to be unable to take a rational view of the situation. Lots do, of course, but there is no other explanation as to why somebody who has the intelligence to get through medical school, for example, can’t see ‘Joseph’ for what he is, and couldn’t see Mintoff, Sant and KMB for what they were, either. Thank you for giving me your email, but I tend not to engage in private discussions with strangers.]
Instead of deleting, you could set up a new blog, call it Daphne’s Bin, and shove all gems there. Slap a health warning on it, and let Labour run riot. I’m sure the Hugh Anastasis and similar poseurs would be enthralled at reading their new chums’ take on the world.
Grand idea , it definitely would not be a ‘think tank’.
Eat your heart out, Daphne !Just imagine if Gonzi gets a similar crowd of young people and a similar reception, what would you be writing ???????
Take a look at Franco Debono’s blog !!!!
How nice, Dward, I heard you adopted Franco – until the election is over, that is.
But you can keep him because we sure don’t want him. Go fishing, you sad old man.
Thank you, Daphne, for keeping me company during the night [nothing untoward intended], as your posts combined with a glass of wine after a workshift make my ‘night’.
God help us all out of the mess we are getting come next 10th March.
At least Daphne gets much more to write about.
Kull fejn imur qisu Kristu meta ltaqa mal-lepruzi.
National Socialism in Germany turned out quite dangerous.
National Socialism in Malta is somewhat of a damp squib.
Heil Joseph, anyone?
He’s not hail, he’s a light drizzle.
Has anyone noticed the stark difference between Lawrence Gonzi’s civilised meeting with young people compared to this delirious rave?
Il-Moviment Laburista. Iddeciedu.
The scenes are reminiscent of totalitarian leaders in more ways than one.
Muscat, like all good Maos, Hitlers and Mussolini, is exhilirated by the crowds but completely indifferent to the people in them. Enlarge the photos and look at his eyes. He may as well be watching himself on TV.
You know who sounded like Hitlerf & Mussolini ? The one who said “NO” when asked if he will resign if he loses the election !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are really into being whipped and lashed, being enthralled by the likes of past Labour leaders and their current time bomb of ineptude. Sadly you drag us down with you.
They keep saying “I’m In”, in what exactly?
Oh yes, vote Mario Mallia and get the Tobin tax.
Fine, AD, just carry on with your Occupy Parliament bullshit and do away with an unprecedented success story.
And how, pray, does laying off thousands of high earners tally with your call for sustainable pensions?
Posting rubbish on Facebook to the number of parties in European parliaments, the reason why Malta, limits and all, is overtaking everyone.
Then there’s the romanticised category of ‘workers’ and their skills, so where did Palumbo get their workforce?
Potheads.
Eddy, one ‘?’ and one ‘!’ would suffice really… it makes you look angry dear. Just saying.
