How false. I’m really astonished that people were taken in.

Will the Libyan ambassador please publicly state that Libya had accepted the intended push back of immigrants to their shores knowing that two planes were ready to fly there.

Or was it that Libya would have been informed once they landed. You know, John Dalli style.

  4. Joe says:

The problem with Joseph Muscat is that he still thinks like the chief of a small village tribe, surprisingly even after spending several years as an MEP.

Therefore the man cannot see things from outside the box, and while being hailed as some kind of hero by his local tribe, is seen as a big joke on the international stage.

Had the man never served as an MEP, I could find solace in believing that he will in time find his feet, but alas this is not the case, and that is the scariest part of all this.

This man should have known better and before blurting out about veto’s, pushbacks and all, he should have first built alliances with other members states of the EU on this issue, if possible, so as to say – when the shit hits the fan he is not caught with his d_ _ k in his hand. He has no clue.

At the end of the day he managed to shift the people’s attention from the Dalligate which landed at Castille’s steps.

Times: Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said on Al Jazeera TV this evening that Malta had made Europe ‘wake up and smell the coffee’ on the migration problem.

Wake up and smell the coffee – The most common remark I used to read on timesofmalta.com’s comments board under the last government.

  7. ciccio says:

Oh, it’s no longer “we stood up to be counted.”

Now it’s back to “wake up and smell the coffee.” Remember the ‘elves’ on the comments board of timesofmalta?

What coffee is he going on about? Is this a speciality of the Minister of the Far Rights’ Cops Caterers?

I had a look at the “roadmap” – that’s the electoral program – of the Push-Back Progressives and Liberals – that’s the Malta Labour Party – on the subject of immigration.

It’s set out in Chapter 16, in three paragraphs (35 to 37).

There is absolutely no reference to push-back policy. And no reference to the veto in the EU.

Another set of deceitful promises in Labour’s roadmap.

  11. CIS says:

He’s on Al Jazeera TV this evening boasting that “He made Europe wake up and smell the coffee”.

Did he tell Al Jazeera that he was against us joining EU?

Now he wants Europe to feature Libya as well in their plans.

He is even saying that he is giving the orders for migrants to be saved. I’m also astonished that people are taken in.

  12. Just woke up and smelt the coffee says:

Why is Joseph Muscat speaking to Al Jazeera TV but not to the Maltese media?

Why is he scared of the Maltese media?

Did he put the Al Jazeera journalists in a metal pen and point two cannons at them?

  18. Last Post says:

It’s true, but the young and inexperienced, especially those coming from a culturally ‘weak’ background, are easy prey of the sweet talk and catch phrases of love, justice and equality for which left-wing factions of various hues are renowned

I know because I was there. It requires an open mind and a lot of hard work and not a little experience of life to uncover the truth: that these pie-in-the-sky promises are a sham.

More often than not the same people promising such sudden and ‘automatic’ changes are the ones who in the name of ‘justice and peace’ throw you and your country back into a new and worse kind of slavery.

It’s a tortuous journey but that’s how I arrived at the conclusion that between two (or more) evils I choose the least harmful and to hell with labeling of ‘conservative’ and not being ‘liberal, modern and progressive’.

Ah, and another thing, History, especially political – both local and international – is a great teacher.

Stupid f*cker can’t even count. Those numbers are off by a factor of two (Belgium) and a factor of 3 (Germany).

    For Malta’s sake.

With apologies to Juan Carlos I.

  24. Riya says:

I would like Joseph Muscat, Manuel Mallia and all the rest of the PL to explain to the Maltese people as to what would be the situation of the government with respect to illegal immigration had we not joined the EU.

    Who could have helped us?

Dr. Manuel Mallia, are we surrounded with boats carrying illegal immigrants cause we joined the EU? Are you blaming the EU that these immigrants are coming to Malta?

How come people like Joseph Muscat and others who were so against for Malta to join the EU are now asking the EU to help us solve this problem and JM is also threatening the same EU, as if this problem came on us cause we are an EU member state?

  25. attellav says:

Where is the president of Malta – the one who reads what’s written – to unite the nation by reminding the prime minister that he shouldn’t be fanning the flames of racism.
