The Armier ‘boathouse’ owners had their AGM at the Danish Village in Mellieha yesterday evening

Published: August 3, 2013 at 2:06pm

They were told that discussions are on-going with the government authorities on:

1. coming to some sort of agreement whereby they pay a sum of money and regularise their position;

2. the installation of water and electricity services for those who have been denied them.

So much for the recent decision by the courts and the pending appeal.

Muscat is already on record as saying he will ignore the law courts if he doesn’t like their decision about VAT on imported cars. One small step for Muscat, one giant setback for democracy.

    • ciccio says:

      “We will consider all options.”

    • Grezz says:

Well, it wasn’t too long ago that Joseph Muscat himself campaigned again Malta joining the EU, and was subsequently part of the “Partnership rebah!” celebrations, ignoring the will of the majority and fooling their sheep.

  2. Tardiva says:

Please obey the rulings of the court.that is public land and should remain taghna lkoll! No government can let people occupy private land. The government should have done so without the need for the so called owners to resort to the courts for it’s decision. Please do not waste more time.

  3. Joe Fenech says:

Regularise their position? Fine them, make them pay rent for all the years they have occupied public land, and send them to jail. Sorted!

  4. Grezz says:

One can’t expect better from Labour. They’ve always ridden roughshod over everyone’s rights and never had much respect for rules and law, so they’re not about to start now.

  5. Michael Seychell says:

Dr. Muscat went further to what you wrote. He had promised that when he becomes P.M. he will pay back the ‘additional’ VAT paid by those who bought their cars from year 2004.

He has now been P.M for five months, and has already informed us all that the coming Budget in November will not include any surprises – in other words he will not be paying back the ‘extra’ Vat paid on imported cars.

Ghaziza sinjura Daphne, jien nitghaxxaq nisma’ l-ghana u mort L-Ghanafest u biex dhalt hallast.

Ma kienx hemm orkestra imhallsa mil-gvern, ma kienx hemm il-Bank of Valletta ihallas ‘il-kor, kien hemm Ta’ Vestru ,tal-Hwejjeg u l-Kanadiz idoqqu l-prejjem, ghana tal-fatt, la Bormliza, u mistiedna barranin, fondi tal-Unjoni Ewropeja kien hemm.

Jien haddtha bi kbira li ghal haga Maltija bhal-ghana ma dhalniex b’xejn l-Argotti! L-ispejjez ghal–Ghanafest ma kienux kbar daqs kemm ikollok li Joseph, lil Zucchero u lil Baglioni (ma hadux €4,000 kull wiehed?) ikantaw flimkien, b’palk daqs dinja mixghul u spijkers daqs gwardarobba, bin-nar tal-ajru, orkestra ta’ xi tmenin ruh u kor tat-tfal biex tal-anqas imorru l-qraba jarawhom ikantaw ma’ Joseph.

Is-sena l-ohra tghidx kemm kien hemm skuzi biex iposponew l-istess kuncert (ir-rih?)

Lil Mark Knopfler inhobb nisma’ d-daqq tal-kitarra tieghu, dak il-kuncert mhux ghoxrin Ewro ‘l-biljett kien bil-wieqfa? Ghax ma tawx pjacir b’xejn lil min ihobb ir-rokk ukoll? Mhux taxxi jhallsu wkoll dawn?

Hawn min ihobb jisma’ il-“jazz” u jmur il-“Jazz Festival” ukoll. Dan m’ghandux dritt ikollu biljett b’xejn?

Ha npoggiha mod iehor: ghax ma issusidjawx il-biljetti ta’ kullhadd?

Araw thajjrux lit-tfal ta’ Joseph biex jibdew jghannu?

So now I can go and occupy a patch of land, build a small room and get my position regularised. It’s a pity that each government has been afraid of dealing with these people because of votes.
