Exactly how low is the mayor of Zurrieq’s IQ? And yes, this is a serious question.

Natius Farrugia

Remember that he is hoping to make it to the European parliament.

  1. Marlowe says:

    The stereotypical ‘Guido’.

  2. Mario says:

Sorry Daphne, I don`t agree with you posing such a question. The problem is with those people who hold him in high esteem and made him one of their cult heroes. If people treated him as one of those mentally challenged which one finds in every town and village we wouldn’t be speaking about him here.

  3. Osservatore says:

It’s a sad fact and an inevitable conclusion that he must be elected by peers of his with an even lower IQ than his.

As an example, we can start by considering the IQ of the man who knowingly and willingly, and may I also add publicly, placed his head between Natius’ thighs to hoist him above the crowd.

  4. Richard Borg says:

If Farage can get there, anyone can.

    • Joe Fenech says:

Oh come on! How could you possibly compare an English politician with the bloody mayor of Zurrieq? England is a complex society that faces several challenges. People like Farage – as controversial as he is – has a legitimate place in the political scene. However, an illiterate like the Zurrieq should lock himself in a tower and never show his face ever again.

  5. Xejn Sew says:

Episodju iehor mis-serje ‘Kif Alla jridna’.

Actually he looks better in blue, makes him look slimmer, or rather a little less of a torta.

  6. canon says:

If he fails at his attempt to get to Brussels via the EP elections, perhaps Ambassador Azzopardi will take pity on him and fly him there as his in-house wax-man.

  7. Gahan says:

Natius is just a popular cheerleader of the Tal-Karmnu feast in Zurrieq, and that’s his only qualification.

He thinks (for want of a better word) that he’s smart, but I must add that he’s genuinely kindhearted and benevolent, but sees red if you cross the line on the Festa tal-Karmnu and politics.

One needs to be popular to get votes, I’m told that In-Nejxis is very popular with the Tal-Karmnu (Queen Victoria) Band Club supporters; so he gets elected.

[Daphne – Kind hearted? He’s a total ahdar. You make the common mistake of assuming that people of very low intelligence are well-meaning, and that it takes intelligence to be spiteful. It’s usually the other way round, you know.]

  8. TinaB says:

Low enough to to tell us that he had a whale of a time at a “weeding”.

Presumably there was a variety “epitasers”, as well as “drings”, including of course, plenty of Earl Grey.

  9. Felix says:

He fits exactly the role of The Emperor’s New Clothes. In real terms and in real life for many many Zurrieq people he is the “village idiot”.

    Thanks for coming back, Daphne.

  10. Spiru says:

I know Nejcis from childhood. He might not be ahdar but just the thickest stump around. He waited tables at Ix-Xiha at Wied iz-Zurrieq and he used to be sent to pick bottles off the beach in his free time.

  11. Challie says:

I remember him as a librarian at medical school. He sure loved the male company.

[Daphne – A librarian? Please. The man is sub-literate.]

  12. Challie says:

Also, I would strongly advise the guy carrying him on his shoulders to go for the Ironman championships.

  13. Niki B says:

Heard from some friends who went to the festa for a laugh and said that he was “patata” (their words)

  14. John Cleese says:

    Here’s my explanation :

If you’re very very stupid, how could you possibly realise that your are very very stupid ?

    Logical, isn’t it.

  15. R. Azzopardi says:

And yet he has the brass neck to call himself a “cultured” man.

Dig the books out, Natius, and you’ll be in for a nasty surprise.

  16. N says:

Daphne, I can assure you this guy is really helpful and kindhearted. He has always helped me to the full even though he knows i am as blue as ink.
Regarding his IQ level, that’s another issue but lets face it, it is the people who elected him.

[Daphne – Yes, he is so helpful and kind-hearted that I ended up having to be given shelter by two priests in their Rabat convent just to get away from him, his direct harassment and his incitement of others to harass me. Maybe he sees you as a vote, not as a person.]

  17. Leli says:

L-ahjar attivitajiet li qatt organizza Natius Farrugia kienu l-coffee mornings at the Garden of Eden Hall, meta kien jilbes ta’ mara (mostly Celine Dion) u kien ikollu xi 600 persons kulhadd jistennieh.
