“Don’t worry – you don’t have to prove where these funds came from”

A comment posted beneath The Financial Times story about Malta’s sale of passports:

I know a few European students here in Beijing who work for immigration agencies that do the paperwork for rich Chinese who want to get a Schengen passport through this scheme, or a perm. residency though the similar schemes in Cyprus and Portugal.

The students I know are paid more than £100 for giving a 10 minute talk, during which the agencies pass the students off as actually being European immigration lawyers.

During these presentations, it’s emphasised at several points: “Don’t worry, you do not have to prove where these funds came from”

Grubby business…

Is Mallia going to hunt down and prosecute those students, with a little help from his friends in China? They’re breaking his laws about spreading false information – or are they?

Perhaps they’re linked to “our” envoy Sai Mizzi?
