Ou est John Dalli?

The man has disappeared, just like Laing Sai. I smell a rat. Meanwhile, his big day is coming right up: 7 July, when the European Court of Justice is to hear witnesses in an examination of the circumstances which led to his being kicked out from his post as EU Commissioner.
Jose Manuel Barroso is one of them.
Newspapers with a bit of a budget would do well to spend some of it on dispatching one of their hottest reporters to the court to report the proceedings live.
But then we always miss the biggest stories, don’t we.

As we have amply seen, it is not the budget which impacts the relevance and depth of news in Malta.
I have never met anyone who says that they were worried when this or that newspaper’s website was down or when nothing new was reported for some time. On the other hand I wish you could listen to the chatter when this website was not accessible a weekend or two ago and the relief when you were back online and posted again.
We can always call him Laing John and buy him a Chinese passport.
Laing John Silver, a cunning man wise to the management of money.
Aħna nixtruhulu l-passaport Ċiniż? Hekk irid inpaxxuh aktar. Nagħmillek imħatra li kieku kellna nagħmluha din, jaċċetta? Nixtrulu passaport ċiniż iva, imma nġegħlu lilu jħallsu minn butu. Tgħid mhux se jiftaqar u jispiċċa ma’ dawk l-eluf li jgħidu li hawn fuq xifer il-faqar?
Alternatively, how about ‘Long John Silver’ ?
7 July is right in the middle of quarter-finals.
I’m sorry, Daphne, and all you concerned citizens.
Democracy and the economy going to the dogs, rampant abuse in all sectors of government and in state entities, and people are more concerned with the (mis)fortunes of assorted groups of eleven men who have absolutely no connection with Malta, and a ball.
People here deserve all that is coming to them; all that they have chosen to bring upon themselves.
I’m sure Lou Bondi will be on to this.
Jien, Int, Ahna “Cittadini Maltin.”
Laghqizmu fuq kollox.
Maybe he’s hanging out in the Bahamas with Mary Swann in her new incarnation.
Works at his dream home project in Siggiewi have been in a standstill for some months now.
Dalli had better hope Niger has a passport waiting for him as it may be where he will be fleeing for exile, seeing as it was the Gheddafi’s safe-haven of choice.
But then there is always China…
There’s been a sighting… at 10 o’clock this morning at the new church in San Pawl Tat-Targa/Naxxar. There was a mass for First Holy Communion and he was there.
You mean J Dalli BA has finally turned a new leaf, and is making a fresh start?
Maybe he’s back in the Bahamas working pro bono for charity.
Incidentally, yesterday I saw Johnny’s buddy Silvio Zammit leaving the Sliema police station with a smile so broad I thought his jaw was going to fall off. And the same goes for the policeman who was leaving with him.
“The Maltese politician says he was forced to resign by Barroso and is seeking to have this overturned while winning a symbolic one euro in financial compensation.”
So Mr. Dalli wants a European Court to overturn a political decision by Mr. Barroso. Personally, I can’t see a court do that. Where does a court get powers to overturn a political decision?
That said, did John Dalli resign, or was he forced to resign, from his role of Special Advisor to the Muscat government on health?
Who’s health, Muscat’s, Dalli’s, or them both?
Is he going to testify via video link from an altitude of 37,000 ft?
“The man has disappeared, just like Laing Sai. I smell a rat.”
Is he back in the Bahamas?
With what we’ve read recently about Gasol and with all those hundreds of millions of Euro that Enemalta will be paying every year under the power purchase agreement (which hasn’t been signed as yet) for gas, I am reminded of a certain philantropic business in aid of the poor people of Africa involving cheap energy, and of the Bahamas funds.
He went to the Godfather Convention in Puglia Italy.
He can even participate in the ‘ disappearing cock’ contest in tandem with Franco Debono’s ‘miniature cock’ entry .

Sick in bed?
Another bout of “psycho social illness”?
Chi l’ha visto.
What’s become of his patient management system for Mater Dei Hospital?
It was trashed.
Seriously? How much did it cost?
Defectors and deflectors, because while the Labour government is off-stage screwing everything in every way it can, Muscat has you focused on these other self-interested scumbags.

Maybe he has ‘venished in tin air’, even though he is not one of Mrs Muscat’s career women who have a baby.
We should all hope that the truth will triumph and Dalli will be vindicated.
[Daphne – The two are not necessarily the same thing.]
It must be something that has to do with our Maltese D.N.A., just like in football we all seem to side with the foreigners.
We all wish him well as he is defending the good name of our country.
But as expected there will be those (with a chip on their shoulder) and those who are more stupid than others who will be wishing to see Dalli’s downfall.
DREAM ON.
There must be a special place in hell for arseholes.
May you please explain why the change from hating Dalli during his ministerial days to adoring the floor he walks on? Does your moral compass change according to what Joseph dictates? You know, you were right originally. Most knew that. And yet now Dalli is a martyr.
[Daphne – I think Mr Loporto always admired John Dalli, and ceased to admire the Nationalist Party when it ceased to admire Dalli.]
Kevin.
I do not adore the floor of anybody.
I do not do what anybody dictates
Mrs.Caruana Galizia.
I do not admire John Dalli but I admire his capabilities
I never ceased to support the Nationalist party and I will be the first to admire the party when hopefully we again can boast of having a Nationalist party
La Redoute.
It takes one to know one, See you there.
[Daphne – If you never ceased to support the Nationalist Party, exactly why did you vote for Manuel Mallia and the Labour Party in the last general election?]
.
.
It is most unlikely.
@Silvio
Which capabilities of Dalli do you admire? His crooked ways or the manner in which he has always managed to escape being brought to justice and held into account for those ways?
I stand amazed by the Maltese predeliction of turning crooks into heroes. It goes to show how our beloved PM has fooled you all into voting for him last year.
I do not need any ilk of Dalli to defend my name. I can stand on my two feet and do have enough spine on my back to resist all efforts and endeavours to snare me into the trap of corruption. It is his name he has tarnished not Malta`s, people are not that stupid to consider a country`s worth on the count of one corrupt individual. So let him sweat it out once he opted to go. If he was right in the first place he would have done what Joseph Muscat failed to do in Europe, get glued to his seat.No one and nothing would have removed him then.
We only wish to learn the truth.
Faced with the truth we will know whether it was dreams, or nightmares.
Forgot to compliment you on yesterday”s issue of TASTE&FLAIR.
Well done.
[Daphne – Thank you.]

Well, he was on a flight back from Dubai on the 14th of this month.
Sounds like someone using his position for invading one’s privacy.
Watch it – Dalii is not someone to play Mickey Mouse with.
Silvio, how do you come to the conclusion that the above comment is an invasion of privacy?
Dalli was on the flight from Dubai to Malta on the 14th of June. I was there and I saw him too. How does my saying that he was on the flight invade anyone’s privacy?
Où.
Que?
Café olé.
‘quoi’ not ‘que’
‘Anorak’ is a Greenland Eskimo word. You wouldn’t know about it.
Nejxis Ola’.

He was at Portomaso Café en famille on Wednesday. It shocks me how his daughters and wife look so messy and shabby despite their millions.
Dalli himself is the height of shabbiness. Qammiel tal-prima. There’s no other explanation for his cheap self-presentation.
Simple, they are inherently messy and shabby. And so is John, incidentally.
Money doesn’t buy taste or class.

Where’s John?
Shouldn’t that be “Where’s the John?”
The PL is an irresistible scum magnet.

As usual, Kurt Sansone saw it here first. And manages to turn an interview into a press release countering Gasol’s delisting.
Nowhere did Kunz specifically mention Gasol’s minor announcement to delist.
If there was an agenda, Sansone doesn’t even try to hide it.
More ignorance:

More cultural navel-gazing and further narrowing of the horizon for those who most need it widened:
http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20140623/local/san-anton-palace-feast-to-highlight-maltese-traditions.524703
How exactly can we “highlight” something that occupies the entire page already?
Any more highlighting and we’ll all die of skin cancer.
Traditional ‘Maltese’ pastimes; hide and seek, marbles and hopscotch.
Men are from Mars, women from Venus and the Maltese, Pluto.
I thought the Maltese are from Uranus.
In any case, the traditional Maltese pastime has always been piracy. I’m off to Somalia to practise some real delizzju.
Hopscotch is not Maltese. And the only Maltese marbles are the collective ones we’ve lost.
Joseph Muscat will be playing ‘noli’, Manuel Mallia ‘bocci’ and Godfrey Farrugia ‘passju’.
Perhaps it is appropriate to point out, for the benefit of those who do not understand French, that “Ou est John Dalli?” means “Fejn mar Dalli BA?”
