Adrian Delia and Frank Portelli in late-night summit meeting at Mellieha restaurant right now

Failed Nationalist Party contender and proto-fascist Frank Portelli is currently holding a late-night summit meeting with one of the two contenders still in the running: neo-fascist Adrian Delia.

They are at One80 in Mellieha. Portelli turned up at 10.50pm with his wife, Jenny. At 11.15pm, Delia rolled up, driven by there in his BMW 5 Series by one thug and accompanied by another.

They are now deep in conversation. You could tell those two were in cahoots throughout, thanking and praising each other all the way. They are both fascists, with Hard Right views to make your skin crawl. And they are both millions in debt.

A few posts back I predicted this, writing that Delia will now bring Portelli on board in one capacity or another. And Portelli will do his usual thing of nailing his flag to whatever mast might help him solve his massive financial problems and get that hospital off his back.

Frank Portelli never meant to win this election. He may be fascist but he’s not stupid. He did it like he did just about everything in his political career: to strengthen his bargaining position when negotiating his personal issues, of which he has plenty. When he smelt his advantage he publicly backed Adrian Delia recommending effectively that any supporters he did have back Delia even at the first ballot.

Frank Portelli understood the changed dynamics of stunting the exhaustive ballot to a single vote better than any of the other three candidates. If Alex Perici Calascione and Chris Said had understood this as well as Frank Portelli, Perici Calascione would have done for Chris Said ahead of the vote what Frank Portelli did to Adrian Delia.

Currently at a midnight meeting with Adrian Delia at a restaurant in Mellieha
